Yoga Instructor
Maryella Matthews is a yoga instructor at Above and Beyond Yoga studio in Mobile. She has been teaching various styles of yoga for more than five years. She has trained with Sri Dharma Mittra master teachers and learned the Surya Namaskar vinyasa flow, and recently completed her Hatha Yoga Teacher training. Maryella is a level 2 Reiki practitioner. “I enjoy weaving sound therapy into my yoga classes because I believe it helps restore a sense of wellbeing.”

Carmen recently completed her diploma for Integrative Healing Arts. She is passionate about the interconnectedness of the physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual aspects of life. Meditation has been an integral part of this pursuit and she has been attending the Meditation Center of Alabama where her interest has been nurtured and encouraged! She has been playing the singing bowls as a means of relaxation, restoration, and balance since 2020 and is excited to share this modality with others!

**Please bring a yoga mat/blanket/pillow for Yoga Nidra (restorative rest) practice. Meditation cushions/chairs provided and you are welcome to bring your own.**

Teaching Monk
Venerable Pisit earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois Chicago in the United States. During his sophomore year, he began practicing meditation regularly at a meditation centre in Chicago, where he also served as a volunteer.
After graduating, he returned to Thailand and was ordained as a Theravada Buddhist monk in 2004. Since then, he has devoted his life to meditation practice and sharing the Buddha’s teachings with people around the world.
As an experienced Dhamma and meditation teacher from the Dhammakaya Temple, he has guided thousands of students and meditation groups, many of whom have travelled to Thailand to train with him. He has also taught in numerous countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy, South Africa, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Japan, the Philippines, and Bahrain.
He is currently based in London, where he serves as a teaching monk at the Dhammakaya International Society of the United Kingdom. Since late 2016, he has also led live Dhamma talks and meditation sessions every Sunday on Facebook and YouTube.
